Balloon Sinus Dilation
Chronic sinusitis causes frequent nasal congestion and discharge, often accompanied by sinus pain and pressure. When you’ve tried all possible conservative treatments, and you’re still miserable with sinus symptoms, the team at Parkway ENT and Allergy, PA, recommends in-office sinus balloon dilation. As a minimally invasive procedure, sinus balloon dilation immediately restores healthy sinuses and produces long-lasting results. Symptoms & Diagnosis
Sinusitis is a common problem that causes:
- Nasal congestion
- Facial Pressure
- Nasal drainage
- Post nasal drip
How Does it Work?
The sinuses are connected to the nasal passages by narrow passages. If they are too small, they can become blocked, which causes chronic sinus infections. Traditional sinus surgery removes bone and soft tissue to connect the sinus directly to the nasal passageway. Ballon sinus dilation is a minimally invasive approach that widens the passageways to a normal size again, allowing the sinuses to drain normally and naturally.
